Strategic Workforce Planner, TalentRiskManagement/Swinburne Edge

For the past 20+ years I have been working with organisations in the public and private, multi-nationals, education, federal, state and local government to ready their workforce for the future. I advocate that my clients only engage consultants where and as required, and in any engagement, I focus not just on delivering, but on skills transfer so internal resources develop Strategic Workforce Planning capability, leading to sustainable practices rather than a one-off event. To that end, I am currently collaborating with Swinburne Edge as part of their future-ready, tailor-made, end-to-end professional learning solutions in the Workforce Strategy space.

If I had to label myself in a work context, I would probably say I am a Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) practitioner, educator and coach.  But sometimes using the term SWP doesn’t help explain what I do so I might explain it in terms of risk.  The greatest risk to any organisation is not having the resources to deliver on their business plan.   If an organisation has a 3year+ business plan but not a 3year+ plan for it’s people, how do they know if their day to day decision making is building the workforce their business strategy needs.

I look forward to connecting with attendees and fellow presenters at the conference, learning about what challenges are being experienced and what solutions resonate.
